Welcome! Bienvenidos! Bem-vindo!

Now in its 30th year, the AFI Latin American Film Festival is one of North America's largest and long-running showcases of Latin America cinema. With the inclusion of films from Spain and Portugal, the festival celebrates Ibero-American cultural connections during National Hispanic Heritage Month.

Highlights from this year's diverse slate of early announcements include Sundance Film Festival award-winners THE SHARKS [LOS TIBURONES] (Uruguay) and MIDNIGHT FAMILY (Mexico/U.S.); acclaimed Argentinian political thriller ROJO; Gabriel Mascaro's (NEON BULL) dystopian romance DIVINE LOVE [DIVINO AMOR] (Brazil); Chilean critical darling TOO LATE TO DIE YOUNG [TARDE PARA MORIR JOVEN], winner of the Best Director award at the 2018 Locarno Film Festival; Carlos Marighella biopic MARIGHELLA, starring Brazilian megastar Seu Jorge and produced by Fernando Meirelles (CITY OF GOD); powerful SXSW Audience Award-winner CACHADA: THE OPPORTUNITY (El Salvador); Mexican drama THE CHAMBERMAID [LA CAMARISTA], winner of this year's Ariel Award for Best First Feature; Venezuelan genre-bender THE LAKE VAMPIRE [EL VAMPIRO DEL LAGO]; and gripping Guatemalan drama JOSÉ, winner of the Queer Lion at the 2018 Venice Film Festival.
