TO KILL A BEAVER [Zabic bobra]
Back from a stint in Chechnya, Polish soldier Eryk (Eryk Lubos) holes up in his family's abandoned farmhouse, barricading entrances, installing security cameras and carrying on a mysterious correspondence with a shadowy superior via phone and e-mail. Intruding upon this environment comes Bezi (Agnieszka Pawelkiewicz), a teenage girl who has been using a room in the house as her hideout. This turf battle is won by the strong-willed Bezi, who insinuates herself into Eryk's locked-down reality and initiates a sexual affair. But both still have secrets making them a mystery to both themselves and each other. Official Selection, Karlovy Vary Film Festival.
