NAKED HARBOUR [Vuosaari]

A life-altering fortnight forever changes the residents of the multicultural Helsinki suburb of Vuosaari in this riveting Altmanesque drama. A bullied Russian immigrant decides to fight back; a young woman dreams of superstardom at any cost; and a junkie couple scheme their way out of debt. While the fearless ensemble cast delves into the darker depths of human nature, writer/director Aku Louhimies' storytelling never loses sight of a light at the end of the tunnel in this unflinching meditation on the need to connect.
