KOLKA COOL
It's hard to be cool in the small fishing village of Kolka, especially when you're almost thirty and still living with your mother. But Andzha, Boga and Paleface try anyway, spending their days drinking beer, pulling donuts in empty parking lots and, of course, wooing the local ladies. Andzha is engaged to a somewhat reluctant Simona, a situation further complicated when his brother Guido returns from two years at sea. Shot in gritty black and white, this stylishly comedic depiction of listless Latvian life was a smash at the local box office. Best Actress, Best Editing and Best Supporting Actor, 2011 Latvian National Film Festival.
