In his follow-up to the gently satiric THE HAPPIEST GIRL IN THE WORLD (2010 AFI European Union Film Showcase), Radu Jude focuses his eye for sociological detail even more sharply upon the family unit, pushing the boundaries into unhinged, blackly comic territory. Down-on-his-luck divorcee Marius (Serban Pavlu) wakes up hung over and late to pick up his 5-year-old daughter for a long-promised trip to the seaside. But a succession of insults, slights and harassments from his parents and ex-in-laws leave Marius fit to be tied. And then things really get crazy...
