Pre-screening happy hour
Intro by Driving for Deco co-founders Chris Arena and Anthony L’Abbate
Cecil B. DeMille made his only foray into the musical genre with this peerless pre-code sex comedy/ Art-Deco rhapsody for MGM. To win back her unfaithful husband, socialite Angela Brooks adopts the persona of “Madam Satan,” an alluring masked temptress who puts her skills to the test at an elaborate masquerade ball held aboard a zeppelin. But when the Deco dirigible is struck by lightning, love must win the day.

An international art-house sensation and one of the most achingly romantic films of all time, Claude Lelouch's 1966 classic won the Palme d’Or at the 1966 Cannes Film Festival and received four Oscar® nominations. When widow Anne (Anouk Aimée) and widower Jean-Louis (Jean-Louis Trintignant) meet, a budding romance blossoms. This new digital restoration highlights the film's gorgeous, impressionistic photography (with cinematography by Lelouch himself).

In an eerie near-future, techno-entrepreneur Karsh (Vincent Cassel) has developed a new software that will allow the bereaved to witness the decay of dead loved ones buried in the earth. But after the death of his wife (Diane Kruger), a spate of vandalized graves utilizing his “shroud” technology leads him to uncover a potentially vast conspiracy. This new film from David Cronenberg is a thought-provoking consideration of the corporeal and the digital, the mortal and the infinite.

Butler Wadsworth (Tim Curry) leads the investigation with help from Mrs. White (Madeline Kahn), Professor Plum (Christopher Lloyd), Miss Scarlet (Lesley Ann Warren), Mr. Green (Michael McKean), Colonel Mustard (Martin Mull) and more.

On August 30, 1972, in New York City, John Lennon played his only full-length show after leaving The Beatles: the One to One benefit concert at Madison Square Garden with Yoko Ono. Oscar®-winning filmmaker Kevin Macdonald's riveting documentary takes that legendary musical event and uses it as the starting point to explore 18 defining months in the lives of John and Yoko. ONE TO ONE: JOHN & YOKO offers a bold new take on a seminal time in the lives of two of history's most influential artists.

Ingmar Bergman's first produced screenplay was for the great Swedish filmmaker Alf Sjöberg's TORMENT, a dark coming-of-age drama about a student, Widgren (Alf Kjellin), terrorized by his sadistic Latin teacher. When Widgren falls for a local girl (Mai Zetterling), he finds himself caught up even further in a web of emotional mind games. A worldwide success, the film catapulted the then-19-year-old Zetterling to international acclaim for the role she often considered her greatest.
